The hornethallway.com page was established about 2001. The goal of the web page was to give the students of Monroe High School a hands on tool for learning about web pages design and processes. Along with this, the students also could provide a valuable service to the district by providing web design services

As web design has evolved, so has hornethallway.com. For 2009, the Advanced Internet students of Monroe High School have taken on the entire hornethallway.com site and rebuilt it from the ground up.

The goal was to:

    * Bring all sections up to date
    * Eliminate non-active sections
    * Establish a design standard for all sections
    * Establish standard color codes and style elements
    * Convert the entire site to ColdFusion using tags to facilitate quicker easier updates in the future
    * Produce an independent "Athletic Department" pages for all sports teams and athletic events
    * Incorporate "RSS" feeds from HighSchoolSports.net
    * Create a design that allowed for expansion and updates
    * Design sustainable and friendly navigation features
    * Modernize all custom graphics
    * use copyright free graphics from within the school

Student Classroom activity

    * Students picked sections and prioritized them
    * Students looked at the development needs of the page and sections and determined what was needed
