Monroe Elementary School Partners
The MacDonald Insurance Agency is again our Business Partner at Monroe Elementary. This company has donated the daily planner books to our fourth, fifth, and sixth graders. With the help from these planners, many students are practicing good study skills and have seen a significant improvement in their grades and listening skills.

Mr. and Mrs. MacDonald continue to sponsor the Happy Hornet program. This program rewards students for making the appropriate choices and practicing positive citizenship.

The Warren Correctional Institution is also our business partner. They make park benches, screen t-shirts, and cut letters... to name a few of the services provided. Coordinated by Amy Short, the WCI employees also donate books and money to our library in order to help us promote literacy.

Tony Brigano, the warden at Warren Correctional Institution presented a check for $236.00 to the media center at Monroe Elementary on Oct. 11. He also presented books that had been donated. The money will be spent on additional books. Mr. Brigano also read a story to Mrs. Dirksen's second grade class. Rudy Pringle, Deputy Warden and Mr. Arnol Elam, Superintendent of Monroe Local Schools also attended. Amy Short who is involved in community service at the correctional institution coordinated the collection of books and money. The staff and students at Monroe Elementary really appreciate the books and money for books.

District Wide Partners
Several sections of the sidewalk in front of the Jr/Sr High School were replaced as well as the curbing in front of the Elementary Building. The concrete had deteriorated to an unsafe condition. Baker Concrete volunteered to do the job for considerable savings to the District. Thank you, Baker Concrete!

RCH NetWorks, Inc. has been a key partner to Monroe Local Schools for over 3 years. RCH host and maintains Monroe Local Schools' website along with all of the district's email accounts.

In an effort to control future technology expenses, our DITAC Committee recommended that a CITRIX Server System be installed. This system will allow us to extend the use of our current “stand alone” computers, yet allow our students to still have “State of the Art” technology. The cost of the system and its installation was lower than the cost of replacing those computers that were scheduled for phase out. CSN was the lowest bidder for the project and consequently awarded the contract. CSN is another “Business Partner” of the Monroe School District.
