Hall of Fame Inductions 9/26

The Monroe Athletic Department and the Monroe Athletic Hall of Fame Committee will be inducting three Hornets into the Monroe Athletic Hall of Fame Friday evening at halftime of the varsity football game at home against Brookville.  Please join the school and community in recognizing the accomplishments of the following Hornets!

Greg McIntosh 1971-1974

Earned 8 Varsity letters in 3 sports.

As a Sophomore he lead the Baseball team in hitting with a .423 batting average and the team won the MML Championship.

As a Junior he was All MML Honorable Mention in Football and 2nd Team All MML in Basketball.

His Senior year he was Co-Leading Tackler on the Football team as well as Defensive Lineman of the Year, Team MVP, 1st Team All MML and 1st Team Journal-News All Golden Triangle. Also as a Senior he lead the Basketball team in Rebounding, was the team MVP and 2nd Team All MML. He topped off his Senior year being named “Hornet of the Year”.

Greg continued his Football career at Indiana University where he was a 3 year starter.


   Tom Bake 1968-1971

He was a 3 year starter for the Football team from 1968-1970. During those 3 years the team had a record of 29-1..

As a Junior he was All MML Honorable Mention.

As a Senior he was voted the Team’s Most Outstanding Offensive Back, Co-MVP, and 1st Team All MML and 1st Team All Southwestern Ohio. During his Senior season he broke the MML Scoring Record and the Butler County Scoring Record with 18 touchdowns and 8 two point conversions.

Tom continued his Football career at Notre Dame, where he was a member of the 1973 National Championship Team.


   Charles “Chuck” Soule 1968-1971

From his high school years as a student manager and athlete and later as a volunteer and now in his current position with the school, Chuck has served and aided Monroe Athletics for almost 50 years. He has given unselfishly of his time, knowledge and resources to make Monroe Athletics a better place. There are few people as vital to our program as Chuck has been. He lives the true Hornet Pride every day and to list everything he does for our Athletic Program would be impossible. So with this Hall of Fame Achievement honor we say thanks to Chuck for all he’s done and all he continues to do.
