Big Weekend for Hornet Basketball

The varsity boys basketball team played Eaton for the second time this season.  The Hornets showed great energy in the first half to take a commanding 38-20 lead over the Eagles at halftime.  In 2 quarters the Hornets defense held the Eagles to fewer than 10 points. See the complete recap of the game statistics on the SWBL website.

Saturday the boys and girls teams were both in action. The girls hosted the Franklin Lady Wildcats and welcomed over 100 of the Girls in the Monroe Basketball program from grades K-8.  The Elementary school teachers and students also joined in Elementary school night culminating with a special halftime performance by our elementary school students.  The Lady Hornets came back strong after trailing 6-19 at the end of the first quarter.  The lady Hornets shut Franklin out in the 2nd quarter and only allowed 18 points by the Lady Wildcats in the 2nd half.  While the Lady Hornets were at home winning the Boys traveled to Bellbrook and defeated the Eagles in Overtime.
