Monroe Local Schools is governed by a board of five Monroe residents elected to hire and evaluate the district's superintendent and treasurer, set policies in which schools operate, and approve the hiring of faculty and staff to administer these policies.

Board members are elected to serve four-year terms and may serve unlimited consecutive terms. Officers serve a term of one year and may be re-elected.

The Board sets meeting dates in January for the entire calendar year. For additional information or to view the meeting schedule, please visit the board meeting dates page.

Dave Grant

Member since 2014 (Current term expires January 2028)

Dave and his wife, Becky, have been proud Monroe residents since 2002 and have two sons that are Monroe graduates.

Outside of his duties on the school board and his professional responsibilities as an outside sales representative for FD Lawrence, Mr. Grant and his wife love to hike, ski, ride bikes, go on Jeep trips and spend time with their family and first grandchild, who will also be a Hornet when she reaches kindergarten.

His voice is one you may recognize if you’ve attended a varsity football game in the last 15 years or a boys varsity basketball game in the last nine, where he also serves as an announcer.

Dave believes that his role on the school board is centered around a collective commitment to providing the highest quality education for our students, utilizing the resources available to us effectively. Equally important is the district’s commitment to equip our dedicated educators and staff with the necessary tools and support to deliver that education.
