School Fees

An academic fee is charged to students each year to offset the cost of consumable instructional materials (workbooks, art and science supplies, etc.). In addition, fees may also be charged for special materials needed for certain courses at the secondary grade level.  Other fees include student parking, pay to participate, and fees to support special activities or items.

Parents must set up a PaySchools account to monitor the balances and/or make payments for student fees. Fees may also be paid by check payable to Monroe Local Schools. Families can also also use PaySchools to add money to lunch accounts and/or apply for free and reduced lunch.

Academic fees are established annually by the board and will be collected at the beginning of each school year. Fees may be prorated for partial year students. Students participating in the federal free and reduced price lunch program will receive a waiver or reduction of student academic fees once the free/reduced-price lunch application has been completed and approved.

In cases of financial hardship, a payment plan may be arranged by contacting the treasurer’s office.
