Food Service

Monroe Local School District is proud to partner with Sodexo Food Service to provide a dedicated team of food and nutrition professionals focused on our students' health and their ability to learn.

We are committed to serving delicious and nutritious meals to students in grades kindergarten through 12 every school day. We believe that proper nutrition is a key part of a successful day, reinforces good eating habits, and helps pave the way for a lifetime of success and well-being.

Meals and beverages served at Monroe meet state and federal requirements outlined in the National School Lunch Program (NSLP) and the School Breakfast Program (SBP) administered by the USDA.

Free & Reduced-Price School Meals

New applications may be submitted anytime during the school year. Students participating in the federal free and reduced price lunch program will receive a waiver or reduction of student academic fees once the free/reduced-price lunch application has been completed and approved.

Families who participated in the program during the previous school year and wish to continue are required to complete a new free/reduced meal application within 30 days of the start of the new school year. If no application is received during the 30-day grace period ending Sept. 25, your child will revert to paid meal status.

Once an application is approved, there will no cost to students for breakfast or lunch.

Applications may be submitted online via PaySchools. Alternatively, paper forms are available from the food service department and building secretaries or can be printed using the links below.

Allergies & Special Meal Accommodations

You can access nutrition, ingredient and allergy information through our interactive menus that are identified with the icon next to them. Each menu item includes a picture and nutrition, ingredient and allergy information.

Does your student have a food allergy? Use the allergen filters icon at the top of the page and choose from the list of allergies and any food containing that allergen will be crossed out. You can choose more than one allergen at a time. The following major food allergens are used as ingredients: Milk, egg, fish, shellfish, tree nuts, peanuts, wheat, soy and sesame. Please ask a food service employee for more information about these ingredients.

For children with life-threatening allergies, parents should also complete their child's Health History & Medical Profile in FinalForms to notify the school nurse as well as the food service team.
