10/23/2026 Construction Update
We have walls!!
Below is the weekly progress report from Robertson.
Work continues to advance on the new Monroe High School project under the direction of Robertson Construction Services and Fanning Howey. Target substantial completion remains May 1, 2028 (557 calendar days remaining).
- Active Progress: Earthwork, footings, and underground utility rough-ins are progressing across multiple building sectors. Foundation block and masonry walls in Areas A and B are 100% complete, and the elevator pit excavation in Area B is finished. Footings and foundation masonry are actively underway in Areas C, D, and F (ranging from 30% to 60% completion).
- Quality & Safety: Soil compaction and concrete break tests performed by CEC Civil & Environmental Consultants have passed. Regular safety audits are ongoing, with subcontractors quickly resolving any identified items.
Current Operational Focus & Schedule Notes
- Site Access & Utilities: Teams are prioritizing the installation of the New Drive and light pole bases ahead of local asphalt plant closures in late November. This requires tight operational coordination with underground utility installations beneath the fire lane on the north side of the building.
- Schedule Factors: Weather conditions resulted in 9 rain/weather impact days across September and October. In addition, architectural review of structural steel shop drawings is currently delayed by two weeks; full impacts to the schedule will be evaluated once drawing reviews are returned.
Four-Week Look-Ahead Schedule
Over the next four weeks, work across the site will focus on completing site utilities, completing foundational concrete, and advancing structural masonry walls:
- Areas A & B: Complete underground plumbing and electrical rough-ins, backfill foundations, form and pour elevator foundations/walls, and prep/pour concrete slab-on-grade.
- Area C: Complete digging, prepping, and pouring footings, finish masonry and concrete foundation walls, and execute underground MEP rough-ins and backfilling.
- Area D: Complete excavation, prepping, and pouring of footings; lay masonry foundation walls; install underground plumbing and electrical; and backfill foundations.
- Area E: Complete foundation backfilling, advance masonry bearing walls, set door frames, and commence in-wall electrical, technology, and HVAC rough-ins.
- Area F: Finish footings, foundation masonry, and underground MEP rough-ins; prep and pour the concrete slab-on-grade; and begin laying masonry bearing walls.
