Five Monroe fourth graders compete in the 2024 Sodexo Future Chef National Challenge

Five fourth grade finalists were recently selected from Monroe's 31 applicants to compete in Sodexo's 2024 Future Chef contest.

Despite being out of their element and in a race against the clock, Juan Andres Bandez-Mejia, Kyra Bohn, Eli Derden, Bryson Herring and Cam Williams embraced the heat in our commercial kitchen like pros!

With a dash of help from our wonderful sous chefs, students brought their favorite family recipes from home to whisk the judges away. Their recipes were judged on criteria including taste, originality and kid friendliness. Bravo to all five finalists and Monroe's first place winner, Juan! 👏
